LIRR: Westbound trains on or close to schedule after rush-hour delays
The Long Island Rail Road was operating on or close to schedule late Monday morning after rush-hour delays, the railroad said in a service advisory at about 10 a.m.
Earlier the railroad had experienced westbound delays averaging up to 20 minutes through Jamaica because of congestion caused by late-finishing Amtrak work in an East River tunnel and a train with a customer in need of medical assistance, the LIRR said.
The delays had begun at about 8:30 a.m.
