The Long Island Rail Road is reporting good service on all branches but Montauk, where midday trains are affected by planned grade crossing work, the LIRR said on its website.
Earlier Tuesday there were scattered 10- to 15-minute delays systemwide "due to slip-slide conditions," as reported on the website.
The conditions, "where train wheels slip while accelerating, or slide during braking" are caused "from the oily residue left by crushed leaves on the rails," the LIRR said.
A wintry mix that has since run its course greeted commuters on the rails and roads Tuesday morning.
