The Long Island Rail Road was on or close to schedule Monday morning after earlier delays of 10 to 15 minutes on the Port Jefferson and Babylon branches in bitterly cold weather.

There was scattered equipment trouble on several lines and a switch problem at Merillon Avenue in Garden City, a spokesman said.

“There was no one choke point. It was scattered,” the spokesman said of the delays.
