LIRR: Trains on or close to schedule after earlier delays
The Long Island Rail Road is operating on or close to schedule after earlier delays caused by a train with equipment trouble in Valley Stream, the railroad said just after 9 a.m.
Delays of up to 30 minutes had earlier been reported on the Babylon, Montauk, West Hempstead, Far Rockaway and Long Beach branches. More than a dozen trains were affected.
In addition, buses had earlier replaced eastbound and westbound trains between Bridgehampton and Montauk while crews repaired damage to the North Main Street Bridge in East Hampton.
