LIRR service shut after train hits person
An unauthorized person on the tracks was hit by a train in Queens Village Thursday night, the Long Island Rail Road said.
The accident shut down service to and from Penn Station, LIRR tweeted about 11:30 p.m. The website said service was suspended on all branches except for the Port Washington, Montauk, Far Rockaway and West Hempstead branches.
No other details were released.
