Train service in both directions on the Long Island Rail Road was suspended early Monday morning between Penn and Jamaica stations due to police activity related to an unauthorized vehicle on the tracks, MTA officials said.

The make and model of the vehicle was not known but was on tracks near the Hunterspoint Avenue Station.

NYC Transit is cross-honoring LIRR fares on the E and 7 subway lines during the investigation, officials said.

The MTA did not say when train service stopped and when they expected it to start up again.

The police activity is east of the East River tunnels, officials said.
