The Long Island Rail Road has announced that buses will replace trains on the Hempstead Branch between Hempstead and Garden City stations from 7:15 a.m. Saturday to 12:45 a.m. Sunday, as the LIRR conducts track maintenance work in the area.

Travelers from the Hempstead and Country Life Press stations will board buses or vans to get to Garden City, then board trains to continue their journey west.

Buses will depart up to 13 minutes earlier than scheduled train times, LIRR officials said.

Eastbound travelers to Country Life Press and Hempstead will get off the train at Garden City and travel the roads to their destination. They can expect up to 13 minutes of added travel time, LIRR officials said.

The latest information on LIRR service is available at web.mta.info/lirr/Timetable/ or by signing up for free customer service alerts via email or text at mymtaalerts.com. Customers may also call 511 and say "Long Island Rail Road" for a customer service representative.
