The Long Island Rail Road was operating normally on the Ronkonkoma Branch on Tuesday after investigators determined an overpass struck by a truck sustained no structural damage.

Railroad spokesman Aaron Donovan said earlier delays were "precautionary," but said officials got an "all clear" message that service had been fully restored at about 10:40 a.m.

It was not immediately clear what type of truck hit the overpass on Post Avenue in Westbury at 9:48 a.m., but no injuries were reported, Nassau County police said.

The LIRR said the 9:14 a.m. train from Penn Station to Ronkonkoma had been delayed by about 10 minutes as a result.

Donovan said the railroad conducted "a full inspection" of the site and found there were no defects to the bridge.
