These holiday events, ranging from tree and menorah lightings to town, village, and hamlet festivals, were scheduled as of press time; they are subject to unexpected postponement and/or cancellation. TOWN OF HEMPSTEAD

BELLMORE The Bellmore Chamber of Commerce will host a menoraham lighting 6 p.m. Dec. 1 at the Veterans Memorial, Bedford Avenue and Broadway.

EAST MEADOW The East Meadow Chamber of Commerce and the Council of East Meadow Community Organizations will hold a holiday lighting ceremony at 6 p.m. Dec. 2 at Veterans Memorial Park, 1700 Prospect Ave. The Community Association of Stewart Avenue and the East Meadow Chamber of Commerce will host their annual holiday tree lighting and menorah lighting ceremony at 4 p.m. Dec. 10 at Carman Avenue and Lake Lane in Salisbury.

EAST ROCKAWAY The village’s annual tree lighting will take place from 6 p.m. Dec. 3 at East Rockaway Village Hall, 376 Atlantic Ave. There will be a menorah lighting ceremony 6:15 p.m. Dec. 2 outside of Village Hall.

ELMONT The Elmont Chamber of Commerce will host a holiday tree lighting ceremony at Veterans Plaza, on the corner of Hempstead Turnpike and Meacham Avenue, at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 1. There will be a visit with Santa and entertainment by local dance schools.

FLORAL PARK Tree lighting and Christmas Festival, from 5-9 p.m. Dec. 3 at Memorial Park, 2 Floral Pkwy., feature festive caroling, holiday gift vendors, food and drink, and of course a visit from Santa! Lighting of the tree is around 6 p.m.

FREEPORT Tree lighting ceremony is 5:30 p.m. Dec. 4. at the "triangle" on Sunrise Highway (between Church and Main streets). Followed by a Christmas tree lighting at 6 p.m. at Freeport Recreation Center, 130 E. Merrick Rd. The festivities continue on the Nautical Mile at 6:30 p.m. with a tree lighting at Woodcleft Esplanade, 205 Woodcleft Ave. The annual Lights Boat Parade is set to launch about 7 p.m. with viewing along Woodcleft Avenue between Front and Richmond streets, or sit dockside at Nautical Mile restaurants.

GARDEN CITY Holiday tree lighting at the Village Green gazebo (Stewart and Hilton avenues), 3:30-4:30 p.m. Dec. 5, with live entertainment; for the finale, Santa arrives on a fire truck.

HEMPSTEAD Hempstead Village will host its annual Christmas tree and Menorah lightings at 4:30 p.m. Nov. 30 at Village Hall, 99 James A. Garner Way, featuring caroling and more. The annual Kwanzaa celebration takes place virtually, hosted by Councilwoman Dorothy Goosby's office, at 5 p.m. Dec. 26; make your own dinner to eat while watching a guest speaker, dancers and singers; a traditional Kwanzaa chief will discuss the holiday's seven principles; for details, visit facebook.com/HempsteadTown or hempsteadny.gov (select the "Events" drop-down menu).

LEVITTOWN The Levittown Chamber of Commerce will host a holiday lighting ceremony at 6 p.m. Dec. 6 at Veterans Memorial Park, in front of Levittown Public Library.

LONG BEACH Take a walk along the Long Beach boardwalk to experience a nautical-themed holiday light display, dusk to 11 p.m. daily Dec. 3 through mid-January, from Long Beach to National boulevards.

LYNBROOK Lynbrook Village will hold its holiday celebration on Atlantic Avenue with a tree lighting, visit from Santa and Blessing of the Creche at 5 p.m. Dec. 5. There will be a menorah lighting ceremony at 6 p.m. Nov. 30 at Stauderman and Forest avenues.

MALVERNE Tree lighting at the fountain and a parade with Santa and elves, face painting, ice sculptures and more along Hempstead Avenue, 5-9 p.m. Dec. 4.

MERRICK The Chabad Center for Jewish Life in Merrick hosts an annual menorah lighting, 4:30 p.m. Nov. 28 at the Merrick LIRR station (Merrick Avenue and Sunrise Highway), with a 12-foot menorah, music, dancing, hot latkes and doughnuts. Before the lighting, a car parade begins at 4:15 p.m. from Hewlett and Merrick avenues featuring decorated fire trucks and antique cars.

MINEOLA Village tree lighting is 7 p.m. Dec. 3, Jericho Turnpike in front of the Village Hall; menorah lighting is 6:30 p.m. Nov. 28 at the same location.

NEW HYDE PARK Village tree lighting at 3 p.m. Nov. 27 at Marcus Christ Hall, 1420 Jericho Tpke.

ROCKVILLE CENTRE Tree-lighting ceremony is tentatively at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 2 at the Village Green on Maple Avenue. Santa, Frosty and Rudolph will visit.

WANTAGH Jones Beach State Park's annual drive-through light show, Magic of Lights, features themed displays using LED technology and digital animations, including the "Blizzard Tunnel" as well as other returning vignettes; also, see the Toyota Mega Tree Spectacular; starting at dusk Nov. 13 through Jan. 10 (except New Year's Eve). Fee $25 per vehicle in advance ($30 at the gate Monday-Thursday; $35, Friday-Sunday). Guests are encouraged to buy tickets in advance for a contactless experience. WEST HEMPSTEAD The tree and menorah lighting from 3:30-5 p.m. Dec. 5 at Hall's Pond Park, 671 Nassau Blvd., with music, children’s craft, cookies, hot chocolate and Santa.

TOWN OF NORTH HEMPSTEAD

MANHASSET Town of North Hempstead hosts the LuminoCity Festival, featuring dazzling displays with illuminated works of art, including one-of-a-kind handmade sculptures, through Jan. 9 at Whitney Pond Park, 7 Community Dr. E.; open 4:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday-Sunday and Dec. 22-23 (closed Nov. 25 and Jan. 6). PORT WASHINGTON Holiday Magic takes places Nov. 27 with dozens of stores and restaurants offering holiday specials and discounts. There will be outdoor entertainment in various locations, Santa riding a fire truck and more. Shoppers can take a free trolley from one end of Main Street to the other, with stops all along the way.

ROSLYN HARBOR A Bug’s Night: Drive-Thru Adventure at the Nassau County Museum of Art, 1 Museum Dr., nycwinterlanternfestival.com, features more than 20 acres of lanterns and festive holiday lights, projection mapping and handmade lanterns shaped into flowers, bugs and more; 5-10 p.m. Friday-Sunday through Jan. 9. Holiday festivities start at 1:30 p.m. Dec. 4 horse and carriage rides, carolers and Santa. The city's Christmas tree lighting is at 4:30 p.m. on School Street.

MASSAPEQUA PARK The holiday season begins with the lighting of the village Christmas tree and menorah 5 p.m. Nov. 27 at Massapequa Park Village Square. Enjoy entertainment at the Showmobile and an appearance by Santa.

OYSTER BAY Planting Fields Arboretum State Historic Park, 1395 Planting Fields Rd., holds its annual holiday tree lighting with Santa at 6 p.m. Dec. 3, with the park open 5:30-8 p.m. Experience the magic at Planting Fields with Home for the Holidays in Coe Hall 6-9 p.m. Dec. 9-12, 16-19. View the historic 1920s Tudor revival estate decked out for the holidays, enjoy a big mug of cocoa while listening to live jazz and watching the roaring fire in the fireplace. AMITYVILLE Annual Christmas tree lighting is slated for 5 p.m. Dec. 4 at the Village Triangle (Broadway and Park Avenue) with carols, hot chocolate and Santa.

BABYLON Babylon Village’s Old-Fashioned Night of Shopping is 5-9 p.m. Dec. 3 (rain date Dec. 10), featuring carolers, hot chocolate and cookies at many downtown stores, along with a visit from Santa. Stop by the decorated Nathaniel Conklin House, 280 Deer Park Ave., for an informal tour 6-9 p.m. The village tree lighting is 4 p.m. Dec. 5 at Argyle Lake Park.

LINDENHURST Holiday tree-lighting ceremony 6 p.m. Dec. 1, Babylon Town Hall Park, 200 E. Sunrise Hwy., with Santa, costumed characters, music and refreshments, drive through in your vehicle, children can leave a letter for Santa.

NORTH BABYLON: At Belmont Lake State Park, Santa and his helpers light the tree, 4:15-6 p.m. Dec. 4. Afterward, there will be a fireworks display over Belmont Lake. Activities include ice-sculpting demonstration, numerous holiday displays, a magic show, a juggler, food and merchandise vendors.

TOWN OF BROOKHAVEN

EAST SETAUKET Drive-through live Nativity scene, see the Christmas story come to life with costumed characters and live animals from 6-9 p.m. Dec. 4-5 and Dec. 10-11, hosted by Stony Brook Christian Assembly, 400 Nicolls Rd. The annual Three Village Electric Light Parade tentatively scheduled for 5 p.m. Dec. 12 along Main Street; view holiday floats with bright lights and holiday themes, and of course, Santa.

FARMINGVILLE The annual lighting of the menorah is 6 p.m. Nov. 29 at the Brookhaven Town Hall, 1 Independence Hill, with entertainment, hot latkes and doughnuts.

HOLTSVILLE The annual lighting of the Christmas tree is 6 p.m. Dec. 10 at the Holtsville Ecology Center, 249 Buckley Rd., enjoy entertainment and characters strolling while waiting for Santa to arrive by helicopter. Costumed characters meet-n-greet starts at 5:30 p.m.

LAKE RONKONKOMA Festival of Trees and Lights, sponsored by the Fathers' Club, 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Dec. 11 and 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Dec. 12, features craft vendors, basket raffles, live entertainment and Santa. Sachem North High School, 212 Smith Rd., 631-848-4855. Fee $2, Free 6 and younger than 7.

PATCHOGUE Annual Christmas Holiday Parade of Boats is set to sail at 6 p.m. Nov. 21 on Patchogue River. On Nov. 27, businesses offer discounts all day to shoppers in the village while carolers and live music filter up and down Main Street; a holiday parade begins at 5 p.m. Visit Santa at the Capitol One Bank after the parade.

PORT JEFFERSON Indoor Festival of Trees is at the Port Jefferson Village Center, 101-A E. Broadway, daily 9 a.m. to close, Dec. 1-Jan. 2 (except Dec. 25). Santa rides down Main Street in the Santa parade 3 p.m. Nov. 28. The annual Charles Dickens Festival, portjeff.com/dickens, is Dec. 4-5 with costumed characters from "A Christmas Carol," ice skating at the Village Center, magic shows, live entertainment and more.

PORT JEFFERSON STATION A Christmas tree lighting and visit with Santa takes place 6-8 p.m. Dec. 4 at the Port Jefferson Station-Terryville Chamber of Commerce Train Car (the intersection of Routes 112 and 347). Refreshments served and a photo op with Santa. The menorah lighting ceremony takes at about 4 p.m. Nov. 28 at the same location; refreshments served.

RIDGE Santa comes to Longwood Estate, Longwood Road and Smith Road, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Dec. 4. Children can deliver letters to Santa (include return address) and have the family or friends take photos, enjoy the train display, take a sleigh ride, have a cup of hot chocolate. Fee $5 for ages 12 and younger, free ages 13 and older.

ROCKY POINT Head on down to Broadway to watch the annual Christmas tree lighting at 6 p.m. Dec. 4 with Christmas caroling and hot chocolate.

RONKONKOMA Observe Hanukkah with a menorah lighting at Raynor Park, 174 Ronkonkoma Ave., 7 p.m. Nov. 28.

SHIRLEY The annual Girl Scouts of Suffolk County’s drive-through holiday-themed light show returns to Smith Point County Park campground (off William Floyd Parkway). The two-mile light show is Nov. 27-Jan. 9 (closed Dec. 24-25, Dec. 31 and Jan. 1), 5 p.m. daily, with varied closing times. STONY BROOK Bundle up and stroll the Holiday Tree Competition at the Village Center, on Main Street, Dec. 5-20. The event features dozens of decorated trees. YAPHANK Step back in time at Suffolk County Farm and Education Center, 350 Yaphank Ave., and see the lights on the farm from 4:30-6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 27-Dec. 18. Make your own lantern, take wagon rides, take pictures and enjoy hot chocolate. CENTERPORT Bright Lights at The Vanderbilt Museum, 180 Little Neck Rd., features holiday lights, themed displays, festive food, music and Santa, 5-9 p.m. opening Saturday, Nov. 27, and running Friday-Sunday through Dec. 19 and Dec. 22-23. Fee $25, $15 younger than 12.

COMMACK Festival of Lights drive-through holiday light display at Gurwin Jewish Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 68 Hauppauge Rd., gurwin.org, 6-9 p.m. Nov. 29-Dec. 2, features thousands of blue, gold and white lights arranged in a variety of scenes and including inflatable menorahs, dreidels and other holiday fun. HUNTINGTON Annual holiday parade is 5:30 p.m. Nov. 27 on New York Avenue by the Big H Shopping Center and ends at West Neck Road. After the parade, a holiday festival takes over Wall Street, featuring the tree-lighting ceremony and visit with Santa. Menorah lighting 4:30 p.m. Nov. 29 on Wall Street in Huntington Village.

NORTHPORT Christmas tree lighting ceremony and caroling by Northport Chorale in the Northport Village Park, 7 p.m. Nov. 26. Then watch Santa ride down Main Street on a fire truck.

TOWN OF ISLIP

BAY SHORE Old-fashioned winter festival on Main Street, 3:30 p.m. Nov. 27, features strolling Charles Dickens-era characters, caroling and a tree lighting near the bandshell. Children can visit Santa and Frosty, who arrive by fire trucks. Make a special stop, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Nov. 27, to visit St. Nicholas at the annual Snowflake Sale at the Bay Shore Historical Society’s Gibson-Mack-Holt House, 22 Maple Ave. On Dec. 31, (rain date Jan. 1), after sunset (5 p.m.), attend "Light the Night," with more than 12,000 luminaries aglow.

BLUE POINT Menorah lighting at the base of Nicolls Road, 5 p.m. Nov. 28.

EAST ISLIP Bring the family to see the Town of Islip Holiday Light Show from the comfort and safety of personal vehicles, 5:30-8 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday Dec. 7-22, as you drive through the 1/8-mile light display on the grounds of historic Brookwood Hall, 50 Irish Lane; decorations have been crafted by Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs and Public Works staff.

GREAT RIVER At Bayard Cutting Arboretum State Park, 440 Montauk Hwy., watch Santa light the tree outside the Victorian mansion, 6 p.m. Dec. 3; park will be open 5:30-8 p.m.

HOLBROOK Main Street menorah lighting 6 p.m. Nov. 28.

ISLANDIA Christmas festival begins at 4 p.m. Dec. 4 with holiday sweets and hot chocolate, candy canes, cookies and a visit from Santa, followed by a tree lighting at 5 p.m. at Islandia Village Hall, 1100 Old Nichols Rd. Open only to residents of Islandia.

ISLIP Menorah-lighting ceremony is 5 p.m. Nov. 29 on the front lawn of Town Hall, 655 Main St. At 4:30 p.m. Dec. 4, at the same location, festivities include a visit from Santa, a light parade and Christmas tree lighting; parade begins at Ocean Avenue and ends at Town Hall.

OAKDALE Celebrate the Festival of Lights with a menorah lighting at the Oakdale LIRR station (corner of Oakdale-Bohemia Road and Montauk Boulevard) at 8 p.m. Nov. 28, followed by a menorah lighting at B’nai Israel Reform Temple, 67 Oakdale Rd.

RONKONKOMA Christmas-themed performance at Ballet Long Island, 1863 Pond Rd., at 2 p.m., 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. Dec. 5. Decorate a Christmas ornament and take a socially distanced picture with Santa for an extra fee. Fee $10-$20 per ticket.

SAYVILLE The Greater Sayville Chamber of Commerce is hosting several holiday events Nov. 27 starting with a holiday parade, 10-11 a.m. (rain date Nov. 28), beginning at Handsome Avenue and continuing east on Main Street to Lincoln Avenue. Afterward, 11 a.m.-3 p.m., a Winter Wonderland features a trolley, an ice-skating rink, Santa and a carousel. Stores and restaurants will have specials and giveaways on Main and South Main streets, and Railroad, Candee and Gillette avenues as well as Main Street in West Sayville. Later, Miracle on Main is 5-9 p.m. with a gingerbread house competition, ice carving, live reindeer, Santa, dickens characters, caroling and other entertainment. The tree lighting is at Sparrow Park at 6:30 p.m. with a visit from Santa.

TOWN OF SMITHTOWN

KINGS PARK Christmas tree lighting is 4:15 p.m. Dec. 4 at Veterans Plaza, Smithtown Library-Kings Park Branch, 1 Church St.; menorah lighting is 11 a.m. Nov. 28 at the same location.

ST. JAMES: Menorah lighting begins at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 28 and continues for eight nights at the Triangle at Lake Avenue, Moriches Road and Route 25A. Holiday Toy and gift drive with Santa at Gyrodyne/Flowerfield (entrance on Route 25A) noon-4 p.m. Dec. 4 (rain date Dec. 5). Santa will be on a fire engine for parents to snap a photo with their children, socially distanced. There will be holiday music playing throughout the day and a mailbox for dropping off a letter to Santa. Free admission, but bring an unwrapped toy or gift card to donate. Christmas tree lighting and a visit with Santa at Deepwells, Route 25A and Moriches Road, 4:30 p.m. Dec. 4 with hot chocolate and cookies.

SMITHTOWN Heritage Country Christmas outdoor festival is 4-8 p.m. Dec. 4 (rain date Dec. 5) at Smithtown Historical Society, 239 E. Main St. Walk the decorated grounds, hear carolers, see historical demonstrations, ornament decorating, take a winter hayride, make s’mores over an open fire; tree lighting time TBA. THE EAST END

Children on the autism spectrum and their families as well as peers, enjoy Sensory Santa and ride on a trackless train through an outdoor holiday lights show. FLANDERS At 7 p.m. Dec. 1, the annual ceremony to light the Holiday Big Duck takes place. See Santa and listen to carolers.

GREENPORT Congregation Tifereth Israel hosts a menorah lighting at 5 p.m. Nov. 28 at Mitchell Park with songs, prayers and welcoming message by Judith Weiner. The village holds its annual Parade of Lights at 5 p.m. Dec. 4 (rain date Dec. 5) on Main and Front streets, ending at Mitchell Park. Attendees will see Santa and Mrs. Claus aboard a decorated fire truck. After the parade, there will be a tree lighting, caroling and Christmas characters in Mitchell Park, where hot chocolate will be served.

MONTAUK The lighting of the Montauk Point Lighthouse takes place 4 p.m. Nov. 27, rain or shine.

ORIENT Orient Beach State Park, 40000 Main Rd., Santa lights the tree at 6 p.m. Dec. 3; park open 5:30-8 p.m.

RIVERHEAD Hallockville Museum Farm, 6038 Sound Ave., will host Country Parlor Holiday Folk Art and Gift Show, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Nov. 26, and 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Nov. 27-28 and Dec. 4-5, offering handcrafted gifts, artwork, holiday décor and more. Holiday market with Mrs. Claus at Spirit's Promise Rescue, 2746 Sound Ave., with vendors offering holiday shopping, 4 p.m.-9 p.m. Dec. 4 and 18. Santa opens the Peconic Christmas bonfire with a parade at 3 p.m. Dec. 11 (rain date Dec. 18) from Osborn Avenue and West Main Street, then east along Main Street and looping south to the Peconic Riverfront Park. At 4 p.m., a bonfire will be lit in the riverfront parking lot. Children can meet and greet Santa 5-7 p.m.; free hot chocolate, cookies and live music. Shop Local Holiday Market, hosted by the East End Arts, noon-7 p.m. Dec. 11-12 and noon-5 p.m. Dec. 13 at two locations, 133 E. Main St. and 11 W. Main St., featuring art, jewelry, homemade crafts, décor and more.

SAG HARBOR Temple Adas Israel will host a menorah lighting at 6 p.m. Nov. 28 on Long Wharf Village Pier in Sag Harbor; the congregation will sing blessings and festive songs.

SHELTER ISLAND Shelter Island Chamber of Commerce will host its annual tree lighting in front of the Shelter Island Police Department, 44 N. Ferry Rd., at 5 p.m. Dec. 1.

SOUTHAMPTON Rogers Mansion at the Southampton History Museum, 17 Meeting House Lane, is holding the Carriage House Holiday Shop, 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Nov. 26-27 and Dec. 3-4, selling vintage jewelry, handbags, clothes, home décor and ornaments new and vintage. There's also a silent auction of tabletop holiday trees created by Martha Stewart and many well-known designers that benefits the museum’s free educational programs; silent auction runs 11 a.m. Nov. 26 through 4 p.m. Dec. 4, southamptonhistory.org.

SOUTHOLD Candlelight Holiday Tours and Tree Lighting at Southold Historical Museum, 55200 Rte. 25 (Main Road and Maple Lane), 631-765-5500, southoldhistorical.org, are 3-6 p.m. Nov. 26, featuring such historic houses as the 18th-century Thomas Moore House and the Victorian Ann Currie-Bell House; all buildings will be decorated for the holidays. Listen to live music and watch live demonstrations of carpentry, blacksmith, basket-weaving, print shop and fiber arts in various locations. Visit Santa in the barn; children can enjoy games on the lawn with Santa’s helper. The museum's Christmas tree lighting is at 5 p.m. Please note: masks are required. Refreshments are available for purchase. Fee Donations. Southold Historical Society will host its annual Holiday Fair 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Dec. 4 at Southold Town Recreation Center on Peconic Lane. There will be vendors, local artisans, crafts for children and a holiday gift-basket auction. Don’t miss a visit with Santa, available to greet children 11 a.m. to noon. A bake sale and cafe will also be available.
