Long Island road construction projects to begin July 6

Several construction projects will close major roads in Nassau and Suffolk counties, starting Monday.

The state Department of Transportation said the closings are probable, subject to weather conditions and last-minute construction requirements.

The closings listed below are scheduled Monday through Friday, unless otherwise noted. Round-the-clock closings include weekends and holidays.

LONG ISLAND EXPRESSWAY

** One in lane either direction may be closed between Exits 67 and 70, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

** One westbound lane may be closed in Huntington between Exits 51 and 52, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

** One eastbound lane may be closed in Huntington between Exit 51S and 52, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

** One lane in either direction may be closed in Riverhead between Exits 71 and 73, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

** One eastbound lane may be closed in Calverton between Exits 72 and 70, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

** One westbound lane may be closed in Hampton Bays between Exits 72 and 71, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

** One lane in either direction may be closed in Manorville at Halsey Manor Road, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

** All westbound lanes may be closed in North Hempstead between Exits 37 and 40E, 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

** Two eastbound lanes may be closed in Hempstead between Exits 40E and 42, 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

** All eastbound lanes may be closed in Holbrook between Exits 60 and 61, 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

** Eastbound HOV lane may be closed in Holbrook between Exits 58 and 60, 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

** All westbound lanes may be closed in Holbrook at Exit 61, 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

** Westbound HOV lane may be closed in Holbrook between Exits 61 and 64, 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

LIE SERVICE ROAD

** One eastbound lane may be closed in Holbrook between Laurel Street and Lisa Court, 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

** One westbound lane may be closed in Holbrook between Smith Avenue and Laurel Street, 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

HECKSCHER STATE PARKWAY/AROUND THE CLOCK

** One southbound lane may be closed in East Islip, north of the bridge (over State Route 27) before Exit 44W and south of the bridge after 44E.

** Two northbound lanes may be closed in East Islip, south of the bridge from Exit 45W, and north of the bridge after Exit 44W.

ROBERT MOSES CAUSEWAY BRIDGE

**One lane in either direction may be closed in West Islip between Robert Moses Parkway and Ocean State Parkway, 5 a.m. to 9 a.m.

SOUTHERN STATE PARKWAY

** One lane in either direction may be closed in Hempstead between Exits 27 and 13, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

** Partial ramp closure in Hempstead at Exit 18 (Eagle Avenue), 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

** Peninsula Boulevard entrance ramp may be closed in either direction, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

** One eastbound lane may be closed in Hempstead between Exits 20 and 21, 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

** One eastbound lane may be closed in Hempstead at Exit 21, 10 p.m.-5 a.m.

** One westbound lane may be closed in Hempstead at Exit 23, 10 p.m. to 5 a.m..

** One eastbound lane may be closed in Hempstead at Exit 24, 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

** Peninsula Boulevard entrance ramp may be closed in either direction, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

** Two westbound lanes may be closed in Malverne between Cornwell Avenue and 250 feet west of Corona Avenue, 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

ROUTE 24

** Two lanes in either direction may be closed in Hempstead between Wantagh Avenue and Meadowbrook State Parkway, 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.

** One eastbound lane may be closed in East Meadow between Merrick Road and West Gate Street, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

** One lane in either direction may be closed in Hempstead between Main Street and Meadowbrook State Parkway, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

ROUTE 25

** One lane in either direction may be closed in Smithtown between Meadow Road and Kings Park Road, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

** One lane in either direction may be closed in Riverhead at the LIE, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

ROUTE 25A

** One eastbound lane may be closed in Huntington between Randou Drive and Greenlawn Road, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

ROUTE 27

** All lanes in either direction may be closed in Bay Shore between Brentwood Road and the merge lane, 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

** One lane in either direction may be closed in Merrick between Bellmore Avenue and Merrick Avenue, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

** One westbound lane may be closed in Hempstead between Route 135 and Wantagh State Parkway, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

** One westbound lane may be closed in Hempstead between Wantagh State Parkway and Meadowbrook State Parkway, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

** One westbound lane may be closed in Hempstead between Meadowbrook State Parkway and Ocean Avenue, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
