Summer may summon thoughts of beaches and parks, but it is also peak season for Long Island’s mansions, gardens and museums. A legion of mostly volunteer guides leads thousands of people on tours across the region. On June 20, Apollo 11 historian Sam Koeppel took visitors on a tour of the Cradle of Aviation Museum in Garden City.
