Following Wednesday’s record-breaking high of 68 at Long Island MacArthur Airport, Thursday is expected to reach the mid-60s, with a slight chance — 20 percent — of afternoon showers, according to the National Weather Service.

That rises to a 60 percent chance overnight Thursday.

Thursday’s daily record high is 62, set in 2006.

The warmth continues over the next several days, with daily highs expected to be at least 8 to 10 degrees above normal, the service said.
