Save for a possible pop-up shower Wednesday around sunset, forecasters are calling for dry, sunny skies and temperatures in the 80s right through the weekend.

For News 12 Long Island meteorologist Pat Cavlin, this rates as his “easiest forecast” ever.

It’s “gorgeous weather” Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, with conditions becoming a few degrees warmer and a little more humid later in the weekend, he said.

Still, Wednesday is bringing a high risk for rip currents for Suffolk County's ocean beaches through early evening, the National Weather Service said.

For Thursday, the day is set to see “barely a cloud in the sky,” Cavlin said, with temperatures rising to the low 80s — “a carbon copy” of Wednesday, but with more sun, plus no humidity.

Temperatures do head up to the upper 80s for the weekend.

The weather service in Upton is featuring a string of sun icons for Long Island on the extended forecast page of its website https://www.weather.gov/okx/
