Man on stolen motorcycle seriously hurt in Bay Shore crash
Suffolk County police are investigating a collision in Bay Shore Sunday that left a man driving a stolen motorcycle seriously injured.
Police said the crash occurred shortly after 1:30 a.m. when a 2009 Honda CRV, operated by a 34-year-old Hauppauge woman, was traveling southbound on Bay Shore Road. According to a preliminary police report, the woman turned left in front of a northbound 2014 Honda motorcycle, operated by a 43-year-old man from West Babylon. The motorcycle struck the Honda and the motorcyclist was seriously injured. He was taken to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore where he is undergoing surgery.
Police said the motorcycle involved in the crash was previously reported stolen in the Fifth Precinct. The woman was not charged. The investigation is continuing.
No other information, including the names of those involved in the accident, were immediately available.
