Interest in the Mega Millions lottery game is going to climb a notch.

The jackpot for Tuesday's drawing is an estimated $400 million, the third highest jackpot in the history of the Mega game, lottery officials said.

No one matched all of Friday's numbers -- 7, 20, 40, 54, 69 with a Mega ball of 12 -- when the jackpot was $353 million.

Typically, more tickets are sold when big-game jackpots reach $300 million or more, lottery experts say.

Tuesday's $400 million prize -- with a lump-sum cash option of $224 million -- would trail a Mega record $656 million jackpot on March 30, 2012, and a $648 million prize won on Dec. 17, according to the Mega Millions website.

Five tickets sold Friday did match five numbers but not the Mega ball.

Three of the five tickets played the optional Megaplier for an extra dollar; those three tickets, sold in Arkansas, Florida and Virginia, are worth $3 million each, lottery officials said.

The other two tickets, sold in Ohio and Virginia, are worth $1 million apiece.

Overall, Tuesday's estimated $400 million prize will be the sixth largest big-game lottery jackpot in U.S. history.
