Memorial services and remembrances mark 9/11

A memorial service will be held at 9 a.m. at the Cedar Marina Golf Course.
Girl Scout Troop 3138 will hold a candlelight vigil at 7:30 p.m. at Holtsville Fire Department, 1025 Waverly Ave. Call 631-475-5238.
A 9/11 tribute featuring kites made by students and veterans will be held at 2:45 p.m. at Riverside Boulevard Boardwalk.
A composition by Sound Beach composer/director Michael Bussewitz-Quarm will be performed at First Presbyterian Church of Port Jefferson by Long Island Voices. The event starts at 7 p.m. All proceeds will go to 9-1-1 Veterans, a Wading River nonprofit organization.
