The drunken driver of a Saab going 117 mph on the Southern State Parkway evaded state troopers but was tracked down later at his home, State Police said Monday.

Michael Richardson, 30, of Amityville admitted driving the car about 2:50 a.m. Saturday, when he accelerated in response to troopers' initial attempts to pull him over for speeding on the eastbound parkway near Exit 31, Bethpage Parkway, in Farmingdale, police said.

He continued east on the parkway before taking Exit 36, Straight Path, in North Lindenhurst, where troopers lost sight of the Saab, police said.

But troopers were able to get the car's plate number before it disappeared and they arrested Richardson at his home on 4 E. Smith St., police said.

Richardson was arraigned on charges of driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, third-degree fleeing an officer in a motor vehicle, reckless endangerment, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and traffic violations, including speeding. Bail was set at $2,000 bond or $1,000 cash. It was not clear Monday whether he had an attorney.
