Service on the Long Island Rail Road's Montauk branch has been restored, following a suspension due to police activity near Patchogue, the rail road said Tuesday.

The line had been suspended in both directions between Patchogue and Babylon. Customers can expect residual delays averaging 20 to 25 minutes, the rail road said.
