Motorcyclist killed in single-vehicle crash in East Islip

A man driving a motorcycle in East Islip was killed in a crash early Sunday, Suffolk police said.
At around 1:20 a.m., the man was driving a 2016 Kawasaki bike eastbound on Main Street near Harrison Avenue when it veered off the road. The bike hit a tree, then a utility pole, police said.
The 31-year-old man, who police have not yet named, was transported to South Shore University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Police seized the bike for a safety check. They said it was the only vehicle involved in the crash.
