Multi-vehicle accident closes part of LIE at exit 57 during evening rush

An accident on the Long Island Expressway in Hauppauge closed two eastbound lanes for approximately two hours during the Tuesday evening rush hour, according to the state Department of Transportation.
The accident, reported at 5:39 p.m., involved multiple vehicles in the area of Exit 57, according to informny.com. The incident was resolved by 7:20 p.m.
