Eighteen area beaches were closed Saturday by health officials because of elevated bacterial levels caused by stormwater runoff from Friday's storms.

Most of the closed beaches are located on Nassau's North Shore.

Civic Association

Morgan Sound

Philip Healey Beach

Piping Rock Beach Club

Pryibil Beach

Ransom Beach

Soundside Beach

Stehli Beach

Tappen Beach

Biltmore Beach Club remains closed because of elevated bacterial levels, officials said.
