It's National Coffee Day and, at a time when coffee prices are increasing, there are deals to be had at Long Island coffee proprietors.
There are conditions, of course.
At Dunkin', all Dunkin’ Rewards members can get a free medium hot or iced coffee with a purchase through the Dunkin’ app, according to the company's website.
At 7-Eleven, 7Rewards and Speedy Rewards loyalty members can get a free coffee with the purchase of any breakfast sandwich at participating stores, the company reported.
And at Krispy Kreme, the retailer is offering a free medium hot or iced coffee and a free doughnut of one's choice, with no purchase necessary, the company's website reported. There are Krispy Kremes in Queens, the Bronx and Manhattan.
At the Starbucks website, the chain is offering its app users 100 bonus stars when they order any brewed coffee Monday.
Coffee prices are up significantly, some 40% over a year ago, with the average price of a pound of ground roast pushing $9, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The reasons cited include weather issues and tariffs.
