NYPD honors fallen officers at Medal Day Ceremony

On Tuesday morning, the NYPD held its Medal Day Ceremony at its lower Manhattan headquarters, with special attention paid to the 47 gold Distinguished Service medal recipients who died from 9/11-related illnesses. Among those attending were family members of Lt. William Wanser III, of Farmingdale, who died in March 2018 of pancreatic cancer after working at Ground Zero.
