A Newsday employee was killed after a vehicle he was driving in Coram on Friday struck a median, police and the company said.

Michael Vogt, 63, is believed to have suffered a medical emergency before a 2012 Hyundai he was driving north on North Ocean Avenue hit the median at 2:58 p.m., Suffolk police said in a news release.

Vogt, who lived in Patchogue, was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital, where he died, police said.

For 18 years, Vogt worked as a designer for the organization’s consumer marketing team, the news outlet said in a message to staff.

The message said Vogt’s "talent and presence will be deeply missed."

"During this difficult time our thoughts are with Mike’s family, friends, and all who had the privilege of working with him throughout his career," the message read.
