The New York City Board of Elections has suspended one of its Brooklyn officials after a tumultuous state primary vote on Tuesday that drew more than 1,000 complaints from voters statewide, but primarily in the city.

The city elections board executive committee suspended borough office clerk Diane Haslett-Rudiano without pay, city board spokeswoman Valerie Vazquez said Friday.

The suspension was first reported by the New York Daily News. Attempts to reach Haslett-Rudiano for comment were unsuccessful.

Thousands of voters’ names were purged in error before the primary vote as well as other reports of problems at the polls.

The complaints are being investigated by state Attorney General Eric Schneiderman and city Comptroller Scott Stringer.

“The Board will fully cooperate with the investigations currently being conducted,” Vazquez said in a statement.

The Board of Elections did not say whether Haslett-Rudiano had any involvement in the issues on primary day.
