Charlotte Brosnan, daughter of Pierce Brosnan, dies at 41

Actor Pierce Brosnan's daughter has died of ovarian cancer, his publicist has confirmed.

Charlotte Brosnan, 41, died in London on Friday after battling the disease for three years.

Brosnan's first wife, Cassandra Harris, Charlotte's mother, died in 1991, also of ovarian cancer. Harris' mother also died of the disease.

People.com was first to report the death. In a statement to People, Brosnan said his daughter "fought her cancer with grace and humanity, courage and dignity." He went on to say "we pray for her and that the cure for this wretched disease will be close at hand soon."

Charlotte is survived by her husband, Alex Smith, daughter Isabella, 14, and son Lucas, 8. -- AP
