A Freeport woman who crashed into a light pole in Merrick as she exited the Meadowbrook Parkway Monday morning faces a driving while intoxicated charge, State Police said.

Nataly Londono, 22, of Birch Avenue, was driving south on the parkway, taking the Merrick Road exit, when she apparently struck a light pole on the shoulder at about 3:49 a.m., police said.

When troopers arrived at the scene, answering a call for a one-car accident, they said Londono's gray Nissan was next to a fallen light pole, on the shoulder.

Troopers said Londono had a strong odor of alcohol and failed sobriety tests.

She was arrested and provided a breath-analyzer sample of .10 percent, police said.

Londono is charged with DWI and traffic violations and is scheduled to appear in First District Court in Hempstead on July 7, police said.
