John Coughlin, younger brother of Giants head coach Tom Coughlin, died Monday night. He was 63.

"Our family is thankful for the expressions of sympathy and prayers for our brother John's passing," the coach said. "We all appreciate them. John was a friend to all. He loved life, and he will be greatly missed. He left us way too soon."

Visiting will be on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Doran's Funeral Home in Seneca Falls, N.Y. A funeral Mass will be said Tuesday morning at 10 at St. Mary's Church in Waterloo.

John Coughlin, a horse trainer, owned and operated Coughlin's Stables in East Rutherford, N.J.

Besides the Giants coach, he is survived by his companion, Suzanne Malloy; five sisters, Carole, Kathleen, Patricia, Luann and Christine; and several nieces and nephews.
