Long Island law enforcement agencies said they arrested more than 130 people on drunken-driving charges during the extended Memorial Day weekend.

Suffolk County police, Nassau County police, the Suffolk County Sheriff's Office, State Police and Southampton Town Police accounted for 136 drunken driving arrests from roughly Friday through Monday morning, the agencies said.

Suffolk police said 50 arrests were made from 4 p.m. Friday to 8 a.m. Tuesday. Nassau police made 36 arrests from 7 p.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Monday. Neither agency reported any arrests for intoxicated boating.

Sheriff's deputies made 16 DWI arrests from Friday through Monday, and State Police reported 17 for the same period.

Southampton police reported 17 DWI weekend arrests, including eight on Saturday in a multijurisdictional task force enforcement effort.

During last year's Memorial Day weekend, Nassau police reported 60 DWI arrests from Friday through Monday, with Suffolk making 52. Neither the Sheriff's Office, State Police nor Southampton police was included in last year's account of DWI arrests.
