Long Islanders woke up to unexpected, humidity and showers Sunday morning, which were expected to clear through the day.

Mild and cooler conditions are forecast through the week across Long Island and Manhattan. Temperatures should remain in the low 70s, with overnight lows dipping into the low 50s, according to the National Weather Service.

The crisp, autumn weather could move back into the upper 70s by next weekend. Clear skies are expected after Sunday and there are no major storms forecast for the week.
