Elena Crowley, 53, of Wantagh, struck and killed by pickup truck, police say

A woman is dead after she was struck by a pickup truck while crossing the street in Wantagh on Monday, Nassau County police said.
At about 5:22 p.m., a 57-year-old man was driving a 2025 GMC pickup truck west on Lufberry Avenue when he turned south onto Briard Street and struck Elena Crowley, 53, of Wantagh.
Crowley was taken to a hospital where she was pronounced dead, police said.
The driver of the GMC remained at the scene.
An investigation is ongoing.
