A pedestrian was critically injured Monday evening after he was struck by two cars while crossing a street in Uniondale, Nassau police said.

About 7:15 p.m., a 36-year-old man was crossing south to north on Front Street near Greengrove Avenue when he was struck by a westbound 2011 Nissan. As a result of the initial collision, the man was struck a second time by an eastbound 2017 Chevrolet, police said.

The man suffered trauma to his head and body and was taken to a hospital where he was listed in critical condition, police said.

The drivers of the Nissan and Chevrolet remained at the scene and were not injured, police said.

An investigation is ongoing.

Just hours before in Northern Massaepqua, a man was killed in a single-vehicle crash on the Southern State Parkway near Exit 30, state police said. No further information was available early Tuesday.

The incidents add to a series of fatal and serious crashes that occurred over the weekend into Monday on Long Island.

The list includes new information from police: 

On Friday, around 3:40 p.m., Alexis Ascencio Luna, 21, was operating a 2004 Yamaha motorcycle east on Jericho Turnpike when he crashed into a westbound 2014 Toyota Corolla as it was making a left turn into a driveway in on East Jericho Turnpike.

Ascencio Luna, 21, of Huntington, was pronounced dead at the scene, Suffolk County police said.

Less than two hours later, a 25-year-old was operating a 2006 Kawasaki motorcycle west on Jericho Turnpike in Commack at 5 p.m., when the motorcycle collided with an eastbound 2019 Nissan Rogue making a left turn onto Morewood Drive.

The motorcyclist, from Northport, was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries, police said. The driver of the Nissan, was also taken to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
