An unauthorized person on the tracks was struck and killed by a Long Island Rail Road train at the Wyandanch station Friday evening, LIRR officials said.

An eastbound train that left Penn Station at 5:41 p.m. and was due in to the Ronkonkoma station at 6:49 p.m., struck an as yet unidentified person at 6:35 p.m., railroad officials said. The incident temporarily stopped train traffic in both directions, officials said, and caused residual delays on that line of up to 90 minutes.

MTA police were investigating the incident.
