A Bayville boater was injured on Saturday when she was accidentally struck by a propeller in the waters between Cove Neck and Cold Spring Harbor, Nassau police said.

The 34-year-old victim had jumped off the boat to retrieve an untied water tube. The boat operator, who didn't know she was in the water, put the boat in reverse to anchor it around 12:30 p.m., police said.

The propeller struck the woman as she approached the rear of the boat.

She suffered severe cuts to her right leg and was flown to a hospital, where she was in critical but stable condition, police said.

Police said the accident was not a crime.
