Two state troopers who said they spotted two eastbound vehicles racing each other at 100 mph on the Southern State Parkway early Friday managed to stop one of them - and said the driver, 19, who had six passengers, was driving while intoxicated.

Arrested was Sean McKenna of Bay Shore, New York State Police said. His six passengers included two sisters from Bay Shore who were sitting on the laps of passengers in the backseat, State Police said.

McKenna's address was not immediately available Friday. The location of the stop also was not available. McKenna was arrested at 2:25 a.m.

Troopers Dave Hubert and Andrew Seale were traveling east on the Southern State when they spotted two vehicles "racing each other, weaving in and out of traffic at 100 mph," according to a state police news release.

The troopers stopped the 2002 Ford that McKenna was driving. Police said a field sobriety test showed that McKenna had a blood-alcohol content of .12 percent.

He was arrested on charges of driving while intoxicated and speeding and was scheduled for arraignment April 16 in First District Court in Central Islip.
