Police are searching for a suspect, believed to be in his late teens, who robbed a 14-year-old boy of his BMX bicycle Saturday afternoon in Roosevelt. The 14-year-old was unharmed.

Nassau County police said the robbery occurred on Centennial Avenue at about 4 p.m.

The teen with the bike told police he was approached by the suspect, who demanded his black-and-red bike — threatening to use a gun if he resisted. No gun was seen, police said.

But, the victim complied.

Police said the suspect took the bike and fled westbound on Centennial toward Nassau Road.

Police are now asking anyone with information call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.
