A school bus was rear-ended by a pickup truck on the Southern State Parkway in Islip on Wednesday, but there were no serious injuries, police said.

The bus carried two special-needs children and their aides, one of whom complained of pain, State Police Trooper Frank Bandiero said.

“Everybody was taken to Southside Hospital, but it looks like it’s all minor,” he said.

The accident occurred at about 2:30 p.m. on the westbound side of the parkway, east of Exit 41, Bandiero said.
