Police are searching for the driver of a dark blue four-door sedan who approached two 14-year-old girls walking on a street in Levittown on Monday and shouted at them to come over.

The girls refused and ran off, Nassau County police said.

Police said the incident occurred at about 3:55 p.m. Monday as the girls were walking north on Division Avenue near Butternut Lane. They said the driver was traveling south and pulled alongside the girls, motioned for them to come to the car and yelled: "Come here."

The driver is described as heavyset with brown hair and glasses. The make and model of the car are unknown.

Police are asking anyone with information regarding the incident to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.
