Police: Tree falls on passing pickup truck, driver injured

A man was injured when a tree fell on his pickup truck as he was driving Wednesday in Port Jefferson, police said.
Suffolk County police said the 56-year-old man was driving a 2011 Ford pickup south on Belle Terre Road near Stony Hill Road at about 12:15 when the tree fell.
Photos from the scene show the tree heavily damaged the truck’s cab and smashed the front windshield.
The man, whose identity was not released, was taken to John T. Mather Memorial Hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
