21st A.D.: Election may more than a two-way scenario
Some Democrats in the 21st Assembly District are helping the opposition.
Elmont civic leader Patrick Nicolosi won the Democratic primary over party favorite Mimi Johnson, but Johnson remains on the ballot under the line of the Working Families Party and has been waging an active campaign against Nicolosi and Republican Edward Ra.
Among the Democrats helping Johnson is Carrie Solages, who was the Democratic candidate for Nassau County clerk last year, and is viewed among party leaders as an up-and-comer.
Solages hosted an “Elect Mimi Johnson” party at his home Friday night,
This falls within the 4th C.D. contest between Rep. Carolyn McCarthy and Legis. Fran Becker, and the 7th S.D. race between Sen. Craig Johnson and Mineola Mayor Jack Martins.
