BACKGROUND:

  • Driscoll, 59, of the Village of Bellerose, has the endorsement of the Nassau County GOP committee. She is the twice-elected sitting Hempstead receiver of taxes.
  • She has nearly three decades of experience as a civil litigation attorney, including a focus on aviation and insurance law. She was an associate village justice of Bellerose Village.
  • Driscoll received a bachelor’s degree in American politics from The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C.; and a law degree from Fordham University School of Law.

ISSUES:

  • Citing a taxing and affordability crisis. she emphasized that her background as a local tax official has provided hands-on experience and interactions in helping district voters understand and learn how to lower their tax bills.
  • She said she is focused on securing the border with Mexico, "and the safety of our communities."
  • She says inflation is going down, and headed in the right direction, but "let’s get inflation completely under control."
