Adam Haber gets backing from State Police PBA in Senate bid
Democrat Adam Haber has received the backing of the New York State Troopers Police Benevolent Association in his State Senate bid in Nassau’s Seventh District.
Haber, an East Hills businessman, will take on Flower Hill Mayor Elaine Phillips, a Republican, in November. State Sen. Jack Martins (R-Old Westbury) is not running for re-election in order to run for Congress.
“Adam Haber understands the critical roles that New York State Troopers play in keeping our residents, roadways and property safe,” the PBA said in a news release. “A successful businessman and school board member, Adam Haber has real, private-sector experience creating jobs, attracting investments and managing complex budgets.”
Haber said he would “work hard to ensure the best policies are in place for the safety of our neighborhoods and especially our children.”
Phillips spokesman Chris McKenna responded that “Elaine has the highest respect for men and women of law enforcement and proud of the strong relationship she has built with local police throughout her service as mayor of her village. She knows that supporting our local police helps keep us safe and that’s why she will be a champion for public safety and law enforcement in the Senate.”
