BACKGROUND:

• Weik, 50, of Sayville, is seeking a second term in office.
• She also is running on the Conservative line.
• She was Islip Town’s receiver of taxes for nearly 10 years.
• She has a bachelor's in business administration from Dowling College.

ISSUES:

• One priority for Weik is to get bail reform repealed by “bringing everyone to the table” to “come up with a streamlined system that is fair and just and does not favor criminals and makes sure victims have rights as well.”
• Weik also wants to work to get rid of wasteful spending and make sure government is spending money wisely to “lower the cost of living, take care of those who are genuinely in need and still be able to afford to run our state.”
• She is opposed to congestion pricing and wants to help struggling small businesses by providing them with information about available loans and working to get employees back on the payroll.
