Association of Municipal Employees presidential candidate Chris Cuddihy lambasted judicial board chair Joe Congedo  for resigning in protest after the union's board of directors failed to accept its recommendations to discipline Cuddihy's losing slate for misusing union computer discs.

Cuddihy said the findings of Congedo and four board members, who also resigned, were "based on assumptions and zero facts." He also said the entire board refused to follow the recommendations, including Congedo's own son, Joseph Jr., who sat as a board member during the meeting.

Cuddihy said Congedo's claims that there was backroom deal-making to quash the recommendations are "delusional." He said there was no deal because pending charges against former union president Dan Farrell remain and have not been acted on because there's a court order barring any action until July 15 in a pending lawsuit between warring union factions. Congedo claimed the board agreed to give Cuddihy and his slate a pass in exchange for dropping pending charges against Farrell.
