On Thursday, Nassau County held a legislative hearing on the recent uptick in hate crimes against Asian Americans and how to prevent any future attacks. So far, Nassau police Commissioner Patrick Ryder said the county hadn't recorded any hate crimes against Asian Americans, but education and awareness may help to keep it from happening.
