People in the school communities -- parents, teachers, administrators -- sound as fed up with testing burdens as businesses and individuals are with tax burdens.

Maybe some tweaks or adjustments in the state approach will make a difference. Maybe it's all growing pains, as Core Curriculum fans will tell you. But we're coming up on a state election year, with state Education Chancellor John King on the hot seat. Whether today's boycott has an impact remains to be seen.
