Add another name to the suddenly crowded mix of Democrats planning a possible run for Nassau County executive in 2017.

Assemb. Charles Lavine, 69, of Glen Cove, said he has “some interest” in running for the seat, but will not make a decision until after the November general election, in which he is seeking a seventh term representing the 13th District.

Earlier this year, Lavine considered, but ultimately passed on a potential run for Congress in the Third District to succeed retiring Rep. Steve Israel (D-Dix Hills).

Nassau County Comptroller George Maragos, who recently changed his party affiliation from Republican to Democrat, has already declared his candidacy for county executive while Long Beach City Manager Jack Schnirman and County Legis. Laura Curran (D-Baldwin) are both mulling a run.

Republican County Executive Edward Mangano, who was indicted on corruption charges last week, has yet to indicate whether he will seek a third term. Mangano has pleaded not guilty.
