Harry Wilson, the Republican candidate for state comptroller, is scheduled to be endorsed Monday by New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, the campaign announced yesterday.

Wilson, a retired hedge-fund manager from Scarsdale, is challenging incumbent Democrat Thomas DiNapoli of Great Neck.

The Bloomberg endorsement, slated for 1 p.m. at City Hall Park, is widely seen as a boost for Wilson in his first bid for elective office. DiNapoli is also running on the Working Families Party line, while Wilson has been cross-endorsed by the Independence and Conservative parties. Both candidates have thus locked up places on the general-election ballot Nov. 2; neither is engaged in Tuesday's primaries.
