Will the involvement of Glenwood Management in two major political corruption cases have a chilling effect on upcoming negotiations over rent control and development tax breaks? Some legislators privately think so.

Glenwood, based in New Hyde Park, is not only the biggest campaign contributor in the state but also plays a role in federal cases against Assemb. Sheldon Silver (D-Manhattan) and Sen. Dean Skelos (R-Rockville Centre).

Given that backdrop, some pols think the legislature will not have the stomach only for simple renewals of rent control and two tax-break programs, J-51 and 421-a, that otherwise expire this year. No tinkering, ajust a straight up extension,a one predicted.
