Criminal lawyer testing waters for DA

Criminal lawyer Ray Perini, at Suffolk Comptroller Joseph Sawicki's fundraiser last week, gave out mock palm cards for a 2013 district attorney race. Perini, of Hauppauge, appears to be testing the waters based on term limits barring Suffolk DA Thomas Spota from re-election. Yet there's speculation Spota and others may challenge the county term limit in court since their jobs are in the state Constitution, with state responsibilities.-- Rick Brand
